Side illumination also consider the projection of a side signal alerting other road users about the intention of the driver of the car. This function can be very useful for motorcyclists or cyclists who often must risk passing cars in traffic jams where the car is projecting an amber turn signal light clearly visible to the approaching bicyclist. Side projection is also useful for safety when the vehicle is stopped and a door is about to be opened.
